Conversational skills

Welcome to my blog! This is my first posting and I am excited to make a positive impression on you - the reader. I will learn a lot from you and I hope I have expertise to impart as well.
Meeting new people and starting conversations is often challenging. It can be difficult to enter a room and view strangers everywhere you turn. Meeting all these people and engaging in conversation with them can be exhausting and overwhelming. But it does not have to be this way.
My goal is to offer conversation skills that will help anyone who wishes to enhance theirs!

Hi Debra,
I have a special needs daughter that needs your help. Do you work with children? She is 15. I listen to your CD when I'm driving. Sitting at a table of 8 strangers isn't so daunting anymore. Thanks.

Hi Debra-
I teach positive social interaction/parenting skills to teenagers in the foster care system. These kids have a great deal of potential but often lack the basic building blocks for initiating and maintaining meaningful relationships. I've incorporated some of your suggestions into my curriculum and I so appreciate the new angle! Could you suggest additional material that might speak directly to this unique population? Thanks!
